Hunkerin' Down in Houston
We're hunkering down here in Cypress, northwest Harris County, about 70 miles from Galveston Bay. Maggie, Jay and the grands, Jay's mom, Sheri, Jake and me. We have all the necessary supplies for the long, rainy, windy weekend ahead. Howard, Jr., called from Gulf Shores to remind me to fill up the bathtubs with water. He's been through lots of storms, so I will take his advice! I'm upstairs in the study,watching the news. The kids are downstairs playing - we don't want to keep the news on around them all day because they are very aware and we don't want to frighten them too much. I, on the other hand, am a Weather Channel junkie! Jake teases me about my hurricane anxiety, but I just want to be prepared. I'm not scared, really, but I am respectful of weather. Will write more after the storm if we don't lose power.
