Milan is beautiful this time of year. The weather is cool and dry. The leaves on the trees have turned gorgeous autumn colors. I am looking forward to walking, enjoying the scenery , people-watching...and window shopping! Tonight we had dinner at McDonalds, surrounded by dozens of screaming kids playing on the inside playground. Later, we shopped at 'Esselunga' which is a large supermarket chain here. Trying to find baking soda was the most frustrating. It's 'bicarbonato di soda' (duh) which we finally found after getting help in Italian from three employees. It's fun to shop and see all the items you recognize by color and name brand but not by language. This afternoon we had an English-speaking tour guide at the church where DaVinci painted "The Last Supper" on the wall. My favorite part was when the guide said that, contrary to the popular fiction novel, the person to Jesus' right in the painting is a very young John the Apostle(NOT M...
